So this is the sort of endorsement I would like to read more of: Pablo Neruda "Anyone who doesn't read Cortazar is doomed. Not to read him is a serious invisible disease which in time can have terrible consequences. Something similar to a man who has never tasted peaches. He would quietly become sadder . . . and, probably, little by little, he would lose his hair." And, yes, that means I am still working through Hopscotch, which is both tremendous and--in the middle of the chaos of work and the tour--interminable. It is certainly great, and will be fodder for several of these entries, but it is far beyond the scattered hours I have here and there to give it. HOME - ARCHIVES |
